Bruce Ashley joined Public Affairs Associates, Inc. in 1987 specializing in public policy management. His areas of expertise include financial services, insurance, healthcare, information technology and the arts. He develops state budget and procurement strategies for a wide array of PAA clients. Prior to joining PAA, Bruce served as the director of government affairs for the Michigan Health and Hospital Association coordinating their state and federal legislative programs. In the Michigan Senate, he served nine years as administrative assistant to two senators assisting with development of political appropriations and issue strategies. Bruce's healthcare background includes manager of government affairs for Michigan HMO Plans in Detroit and director of federal and state government affairs for Wisconsin Physicians Service in Madison, Wisconsin. Bruce has been finance director for several statewide ballot proposals, coordinating the fund raising efforts for many of Michigan's largest corporations, associations and trade groups. Bruce maintains an active role in the community having served on the board of directors of the Greater Lansing Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Lansing YMCA. He is a past member of the Mayor's Committee on Drug Abuse and Alcoholism, Junior Achievement and the MSU Downtown Coaches Club. He currently serves on the MSU Museum Development Council and is a board member of ArtServe Michigan , the Arts Council of Greater Lansing and the Country Club of Lansing. He and his wife, Sharon, live in Okemos.
