B. Scott Breslin

Scott Breslin joined Public Affairs Associates, Inc. in October 2004, having spent the previous four years as Chief of Staff to Senator Michael D. Bishop of Oakland County. In that capacity he managed the Senator's legislative agenda in both the House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate. While working with Senator Mike Bishop, Scott's main focus was in the area of Insurance and Financial Services. Scott served as the lead staff person on the Michigan Venture Capital Act, the Child Protection Registry Act, and the Modernization of the Credit Union Act. Scott now specializes in legislative issues relative to insurance and financial services, internet protection and retail.

In addition to his legislative experience, Scott worked closely with many campaigns and Political Action Committees. This experience has given Scott a solid understanding of modern campaign techniques and PAC management.

Previous to moving to the Senate, Scott served as the External Affairs Liaison for Charles R. Perricone during his tenure as Michigan's Speaker of the House. His duties included representing the Speaker and the Republican Caucus at various events around the State. Additionally, his role required interaction with caucus members and interest groups. In 2000, Scott was asked to deliver the opening speech at the Michigan Special Olympics competition.

Scott helped found the Michigan "Meet Us on the Trails" organization, which raises funds to support the State's nature trail system. He also has extensive experience working with the Natural Resources Trust Fund and the legislature relative to the naming of Michigan's individual trail systems.

In 2007, Scott was nominated for the prestigious Lansing Regional Chamber "10 Over the Next Ten" award, an award recognizing mid-Michigan's top young professionals and future leaders.

Scott's family has deep roots in Michigan Politics. He is continuing a family history of involvement in Michigan's political process. Both his grandfather Jack Breslin, and father Brian Breslin traveled the halls of the Capitol while promoting public policy relative to higher education, corporate growth and job creation.

Scott is a native of Grand Rapids and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He currently resides in East Lansing with his wife Jasmine and two daughters, Ryann and Quinn.
